Magnificent day out with my partner
Ategnatos, 13-09-2022
Xcaret is the type of park that one day is not enough to see and experiece everthing the park has to offer. Seeing the flying men and going down the river in the small raft, swimming in a underground river and watching the 2 hour night show in a beautiful amphitheatre is just a few experiences that we enjoy so much. I recommend to everyone.
Fantastic

Perfect place to visit. Must plan for more than one day. Experience Mexico in a whole new and wonderful way at XCaret. I will be back!

According to local legend, way back in 1984, a Mexico City architect named Miguel Quintana Pali (no relation to Larry Quintana Roo) purchased 12 acres of swamp land just a bit south of PDC, way past Liverpool. He planned to build his own family compound and retreat among the many mangled mangroves, huge hungry iguanas and jagged rocky shore. He wanted his own little piece of heaven on the coast of the Caribbean just for his family and peeps. Cool.
But, just as Jed Clampett surprisingly discovered, something else was brewing just below the overgrown jungle. It wasn’t black gold, but it was wet gold. Undiscover secret cenotes, lost Mayan temples and flowing canyon rivers to the sea. So, Miguel, being a reasonable sane and somewhat forward-thinking hombre, concludes people would actually lay out some serious pesos to see this stuff and declared, “I will build the world’s best Eco Park!!!” And as they say, the rest is history-Xcaret was born in 1990. In that year I was just a struggling, mid-level government employee working xtra hard at the US Department of Redundancy Department. I had no idea what was happening just south of the border. But today, we visited the famous Xcaret Eco Park for the first time.
As my pristine, yet sometimes gassy, esposa premiera and I joined a small group for PDC buds to visit X, I was excited and apprehensive. A lot of walking around a hot, sunny jungle didn’t sound like too much fun. And to make it worst, one of our group members kept claiming it was her birthday! We tried ardently to ignore her, eventually bribing her with a couple adult beverages. She quietened down soon after. Geez, some people!
Oh, and the park was super beautiful, remarkably designed and crafted as well as engaging throughout. Around every curve and corner was a little and sometimes large attraction or xperience. A lone celloist, floating rock or tree, or some exotic animal or flora. Between the xquisite pink flamingos, stunning canyon river and relaxing xotic lagoon, it was well worth the trip and listening to all her bogus birthday claims. Bravo billionaire Miguel, well done. Oh, and a most happy xcellent birthday, Marvelous Ms. M.
WOW - Definitely a must whilst staying in Cancun!

Selected the basic ticket which included access to the park, night show and hotel transfer. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes, it's well run and I don't think you will experience anything like this.

Xcaret was a def recommend if you’ve never gotten to swim in a river through caves! Such an awesome experience. My only complaint is that there are only two departure times. One at 4 and one at 9. I would have loved to stay until 6 and it would have been perfect. We didn’t get to explore everything but also did not want to get home at 10:30. Aside from that recommend!
Fascinating experience
nicedayniceday, 11-12-2022
Very good experience in Xcaret. This is a beautiful place. We love that about beauty and animals. Specially we like swimming in the underground river.
Great experience
leannehF9845VU, 10-12-2022
We loved the aviary and the beach the most! Everyone was so friendly and there was so much to do. Oh wait, we loved swimming with the dolphins and the show was excellent too!
Great experience
Celestino_M, 09-12-2022
This is a very unique water park/zoo. Lots of family activities to do but keep in mind that you pay extra for some activities. The restaurants are excellent and the evening show is spectacular.
Excellent

Everything was amazing. Very professional. I highly recommend
We went to Xcaret and they pick us up at the resort exactly on time
Fun filled full day outing at theme park for whole family.

This is the basic package even though the included description is a bit ambiguous. This includes hotel pickup and transportation, full access to park, all shows and towels that are needed after a swim in the lazy river. This ticket excludes the lunch buffet and access to lockers, both can be bought if needed at a reasonable price while inside the park.
Smooth & easy for a wonderful park trip
YUAN_L, 29-12-2022
Xcaret is a must-visit if you are staying in Cancun, and I would recommend this tour since it made your life super easy - get on bus in the morning and you would be completely taken care of from then on
Great place for adults, kids, relaxation, and more!
Joshua_R, 29-12-2022
My wife and I absolutely loved our visit to Xcarat. We did a massage, stingray adventure, relaxed at the beach area, and there were still so many things to do. The Espectacular show at the end of the night is worth it. If you go to the show, you’ll expect to be back at the hotels around 11:30pm. They usually have options if you want to leave early at 4pm. I would do the whole thing again!
There are so many activities to do. Lunch buffet is international and not bad.
brookeliu888, 28-12-2022
Lots of water activities to do and lunch Buffett is international and good. Sea trek and underground river swimming are recommended.

Towel is 3.99 USD with $10 deposit. Water shoes are 699 pesos. Waterproof phone case is also available for sale on site. I brought my own so I didn’t buy it. Night show is optional. I left early at 3:45pm and didn’t see the night show because I was too tired. Great day trip anyway.
Brilliant day

Awesome day out, proper Mexican theme park.

Pick up and drop off .... easy peasy

Start with putting our belongings away in lockers and then into lazy river, now it was hard work as we weren't moving at all! Just floating away, it would be even better if they had blowing people machine to keep people moving instead of slowing/stopping/floating people that why I'm having to have a point knocked off. If blowing people machine were installed would of been a 5*

Food drinks has been really nice, drink were a ripoff £8 for a cardboard pint size cup

The beady dragons are enjoyable to watch and customers were feeding them carrots and bread , I have 2 beady dragons myself and they are well looked after, never seen one that came down from the rocks that was huge, long tailed dragon, hoping mine doing grow as I need a bigger garden :D would of called him Godzilla.

Then the night of the show was absolutely spectacular and was glued to the show about Mexican war dating back 1848 and the costumes were amazing. Then when the show almost finished, we decided to catch bus early has the thunderstorms arrived and almost caught in heavy downpours, the storm was horrible windy and thunder&lightening were going off every 10/20secs never seen the storm before but I do LOVE a good storm
Ask the operator which activities are included before you purshase.
maggiemar72, 12-12-2022
Too many attractions, for very little time. The park is beautiful. Be aware, this package doesn't include many activities such as interacting with dolphines. That is an additional $110-$140.
Cool activities
Monique_D, 15-12-2022
The best part of my day was floating in the lazy river and the night show. Watching the dolphins was also cool. I can’t remember our tour guide’s name but he was very sarcastic in response when I asked how to get to a certain place in the park. We had never been to this park before so we did not fully understand some of the information he gave on the bus. He provided a lot of info and expected us to write it down. Overall this is a an ok place to watch animals, shows, beach time, and water sports. I didn’t find it too exciting.
Know before you go!

Xcaret is well known as the Disneyland of Riviera Maya--it definitely offers many fun attractions, but most of them cost extra money! By itself, the things included in the basic ticket aren't that spectacular--the river float, the animal exhibits, and the mayan exhibits and show are included, as well as the use of the beach. Everything else costs extra--dolphin swim, adrenaline boat ride, parasailing, sea trek, snorkeling...they even upsell you on the plus ticket which gets you a special changing area (convenient) and includes a buffet meal (average).

The single biggest bit of advice I would offer anyone planning an Xcaret trip who wants to do the extra attractions: Drive yourself, get a taxi, or hire your own ride to bring you to Xcaret when it opens! DO NOT use Xcaret's official transportation--why? Because they will pick you up well AFTER the park opens and they will very likely be late picking you up and have to pick up other people from other resorts. We had a 9:30 pickup that didn't arrive until 10:05. By the time we picked everyone else up and mucked around we didn't get inside the park until 11 am. This is crucial lost time because if you are doing extra experiences (we booked a dolphin swim, parasailing, and a snorkeling trip), you are NOT given an assigned time. You have to enter the park, go to their activity desk and then book your times! By the time we got to the activity desk at 11 am, we had to scramble to fit our activities into the time slots. That took another 45 minutes and we had to cancel the snorkeling tour because it takes over an hour and we couldn't fit it into our schedule with our other activities. We ended up switching it for a sea trek with rays which was fun, but not in our original plans. It's so poorly organized. The other thing about Xcaret transportation is that they will bring you back at 4 pm or 9:30 pm after the show, nothing in between which is inconvenient. Knowing what I know now, I would have just taken a taxi from Playa del Carmen and arrived at Xcaret early and gotten all my time slots. Our plans got torpedoed directly as a result of their poor scheduling system and their official transportation!

So aside from all that, the one upsell I will say is probably decent is the photo pass simply because it allows you to not bring your camera/phone. They do allow go-pros at all attractions. Their food was pretty standard theme park slop--not great, but does the job. The beach area is fun, the parasailing was the highlight, and the sea trek with the rays was a very enjoyable experience--all those photos are included in the photo pass. Dolphin swim photos are not included and are a separate upcharge. Overall, it was a fun day despite the frustrating start. We're glad we saw it, but we almost certainly won't repeat.
