Overview

Unlock the mysteries of the Mayans with a full-day exploration of Chichén Itzá and Valladolid.

We’ll stop by the charming town of Valladolid, a colonial town where you would have time to walk around and take some pictures of its main square and the baroque San Gervasio Cathedral

We’ll arrive early to the UNESCO World Heritage site, learning the secrets and history of the pre-Columbian city while marveling at the Pyramid of Kukulcan. Follow your guide around Chichén Itzá, one of the main archaeological sites of Yucatan’s peninsula.

No visit to the area would be complete without a stop by a cenote, a refreshing, enchanting underground sinkhole. After a refreshing swim, we’ll enjoy an authentic Mexican buffet and tequila tasting.

Great guide and experience

Great experience, we highly recommend! Chichen Itza and the Sacred Cenote are really beautiful and something you should see. However, the best part of the trip was the guide, David. Very knowledgeable, patient, and funny, and his enthusiasm is unparalleled. Graciás David for a great trip, wish you all the very best.
BEST TOUR, PACKAGE AND EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME!!

Frank our guide and Luna our driver - excellent! Worth getting up 4am. First in to everything throughout the day. We can’t say enough of how informative, well organised, timed and amazing this was. Highly recommend the money for what you get and learn. Also Frank a proud Mayan as he should be. Thank you so much for a great learning experience. Amigo Tours give these guys a payrise , they work so hard and do your company proud!!!
Wonderful Chichen Itza

Overall, Vicente delivered an amazing guided tour through chichen itza, an obsidian store/buffet, and finally ending at the cenote. i would 100% recommend for anyone interested in visiting this amazing wonder of the world!
Fantastic!

Amazing tour! My congratulations to Rodrigo for sharing all him experience and incredible stories about Chichen Itza! One of the best explication ever I heard! Thanks one more time to share my moment to completing the 7 wonders of the world with me! Thanks to Daniel too for all services in the bus!
Excellent tour
Tom_Q, 15-09-2022
The tour was excellent. It had everything I expected and more.
The tour guide Frank was friendly, approachable and informative and the driver Raoul drove us very well all day. The coach had AC and a toilet. Frank and another English-speaking guide (Mariella?) who met us at Chichen Itza have Mayan heritage and could give us real insight into the culture. Chichen Itza was well worth the visit. It is very hot there, even hotter than the coast, so I appreciated that the tour got us there early in the day and before the crowds arrived.
The second stop at the Mayan restaurant had a delicious buffet.
The third stop was to swim in the cenote and was a wonderful experience.
The final stop was in a colonial town called Valladolid which was a sweet place and perfect for a few final photos. Overall it was an action packed day and well worth it. The Amigos tour was more than half the price than Tui advertised but we couldn't have asked for a better tour thanks to Frank and Raoul and the other drivers who collected us from our hotel. We appreciated that we got a bit of spare time in each area. It was very well organised and I would recommend it and the staff involved.

Great experience!!!

It was an awesome trip. Daniel was very informative. The driver of the bus made us feel welcome and you can tell the bus is well kept by the driver. They delivered as promised and much more. I would definitely recommend.
Timely cruise through all important places

Great tour to see everything in one day! Timing is sharp, lunch is tasty, great thing that the guide makes the group organized and follows the timing. We have made everything expected in the program with the ability to buy souvenirs and enjoy a cup of coffee at Valladolid. If you expect to have long time for yourself at every place - better choose a different option, but obviously then you won’t see that many things.
Recommended for its value for money and activities included!
Great Tour of Chichen Itza
kenpc13, 17-09-2022
Daniel & Arturo did a great job explaining the trip right from the start. They catered to all our needs and guided us throughout the way. We were made aware of everything each stop included. They made us all feel very welcomed.
Satisfied and Refreshed
111nicholasf, 17-09-2022
The trip as a whole was as extremely informative and exciting, Daniel is a wonderful guide who is not only familiar with the history of the area but also it’s culture and people as well. Lunch is as great and the Cenote was my favorite part of the tour. Would definitely do again and recommend to friends and family. My only tip is to bring comfortable shoes and remember an extra set of clothes.
A good time in Cancun
eddygrahams, 17-09-2022
Swimming in the cenota was my favorite part! The water was cool and refreshing after a hot day. Also enjoyed finally seeing the pyramid in person - it’s worth seeing.
Excellent

Mr. Vicente Padilla was great we are from the USA and he showed everyone a great time he knew what he was talking about
Rodrigo is the best guide! You will love it!
Xing_X, 12-12-2022
Rodrigo is the best tour guide I ever had, he was born from the Chichen Mayan community, and he has his own understanding of all the things you want to lean about Mayan culture. He will show you a lot interesting knowledge about the Chichen Mayan ruins, you may not know from other guide. He will also show you a few different tips to make good photos and he will help you to make good photos. He is very knowledgeable, he is in the process of getting a PhD degree, and will be the first Mayan person to get this. This is amazing! Besides, he is very nice and has a humor to make your trip feel great.
A Unique one of a kind tour
Mellisa_T, 11-12-2022
The first thing I suggest is definitely booking the 5am trip. There were way less people and we were one of the first to arrive. The distance is about 2 hours and 30 minutes so be prepared. It definitely feels shorter with all the naps I took. The bus was clean had AC and a bathroom. It was a smooth ride thanks to the driver Manuel. The tour was very interesting and informative and the tour guide Rodrigo was very charismatic and funny and spoke English very well. At the buffet, I wasn’t used to the food but that didn’t stop me from getting as much as I could
Great value, definitely recommend!
Lauren_D, 11-12-2022
Beto was our guide, he was very funny and had lots of knowledge. Fluent English and happy to answer any questions. The tour went very quickly but it was a good taste of Chichen Itza . The Cenote was beautiful and refreshing for a swim afterward. Lunch was also nice and filling and the bus was clean and well air conditioned
I would recommend this tour to anyone and think it was very good value for money. Thankyou Beto
Worth every coin

Great experience and awesome tour guide. Thanks Marcela and Alexis. Don't forget to bring cash for your drink during lunch. Otherwise, this was unmatched -- truly few people in the world have experienced this. One time for Marcela's Sexy Group!

SandyN1, 14-12-2022
Marcela was amazing tour guide. Though we started very late and it felt rushed overall was still a great tour.
Don't miss it!
Kanwaljeet_S, 15-12-2022
Ruben was an engaging funny and very knowledgable guide. The trip to the cenote was the perfect refreshing finish to a long day. Chichen Itza of course was the highlight.
Amazing Experience
verenisef2022, 06-01-2023
We enjoyed our trip, the guide was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed how he shared his experience of training with Guillermo De Anda. Due to time constrain we were not able to spend as much time at the cenote. Chichen Itza and the cenote was an amazing experience.
Great experience
Rosanna_N, 05-01-2023
Alex the driver was great.
Galo the tour guy was very helpful and knowledgeable. Great outdoor expedience.

We coudnt visit Chichen itza, but the company gave us an alternative, la cidad de Cobá. Very pretty too, an amazing experience! We totally recomend it! And our guide Esther was very helpfull, she explained a lot about maya culture and she was very fun!
Worth the Experience!
Demirael, 04-01-2023
We were picked up from our hotel, on time. Everything from pick-up to drop-off went smoothly. Rodrigo was our very knowledgeable and funny tour guide. He shared so much insight on the culture, history, landmarks we passed. He was great at captivating and including everyone on the tour. The tequila tasting was good, lunch was even better! The cenote was beautiful, and of course Chichén Itza was unforgettable. If you have the time, this experience is worth it. And thanks to our bus driver, Arturo, for getting us to and from safely and comfortably.
Perfect Trip to Chichen Itza
795mrinalm, 03-01-2023
Excellent and perfectly planned tour. Everything was right on time. The tour guide Marcela was very knowledgeable of the Mayan culture and it’s history. The tour to Chichen Itza was fun and Marcela took time and interest in clicking everyone’s picture which was very kind. The tequila tasting and cenote swimming was super fun as well. After that we had lunch at the buffet which was good quality food. They dropped us back at the hotel before the expected time. We were second to pick up and drop off as well. The bus was clean, had a restroom and the ride was comfortable. We enjoyed our day 100%!
Chichen Itza and the Cenote is worth it, the rest not so much
Halsey_S, 13-09-2022
This was a great day trip, and I highly recommend getting out of the hotel zone to see Chichen Itza while you are in Cancun! It was a very long day, most of which was spent on a bus (we were picked up at 5:30AM and dropped off at 7:30PM) but it was worth it. Chichen Itza was beautiful, and our tour guide Rodrigo was wonderful! We also loved going to the Cenote afterwards. The only disappointment I had was the Buffet Lunch. The lunch was not very good (and it was served at 10:30AM and was the only meal provided all day long) and we spent way too much time at the shops there. I would have much rather preferred to be picked up later from the hotel and gone straight to Chichen Itza than stop for the buffet lunch. In addition, our trip to Valladolid consisted only of driving through the town while on the bus; we weren't allowed to get off and walk around or take pictures at all. In summary, Chichen Itza and the Cenote is well worth the day trip, but if I were to do it again I would choose a tour that only went to Chichen Itza and the Cenote and did not stop anywhere else.
Nice day trip to Chichen Itza
H6882ROkayc, 13-09-2022
Pickup was exactly on time. Would've preferred to go to Chichen Itza first whilst the crowds were a little less and it wasn't that hot. The itinerary could've been better laid out.
Going to Valladolid for us, was just good for stretching our legs. Not really for anything else.
Buffet lunch was decent. Enjoyed the pork tacos.
The cenote was beautiful too.
One thing to remember is that every single place you go to or person you talk with, will ask you for a tip. So consider having a lot of cash with you for that.
Remember that you can bargain prices for EVERYTHING!
Daniel, our tour guide was very knowledgeable, honest and funny. Always kept us in the loop as to what was going on. Thanks to the driver as well as he kept us safe.
Overall, the experience was a good one.
Informative tour
Betsaida_C, 15-09-2022
I booked this tour as a gift for my mom since it was her first time to go to Cancun and have this experience . This tour was good , this is my 2nd time to go to Cancun and do this tour . Daniel the tour guide was very informative I learned new things from him which I did not learn from my first tour few years ago. I got to see the Valladolid town as well which wasn’t included fr my first tour , so that was something nice as an addition . The lunch buffet was ok , I was expecting more choices of food and more traditional food fr Mexico to be served . Didn’t even got the chance to do 2nd serving when I thought this was a buffet lunch . The tequila tasting was great and their tequilas were awesome ! This gave me a new perspective on how tequilas should be ! All in all it was good tour !
Amazing experience but plan on spending a full day
Baljinder_S, 14-12-2022
Very enjoyable tour and great value for money! Same tour from my resort was 3 times. Plan on spending at least 13-14 hours, especially if you take the VIP tour where they pick you up from the resort/hotel. They just pass through Valladolid but do tell you it’s history. Next stop is at the eating place but I would highly suggest against buying anything from there. If you want to buy souvenirs, you will find better quality and prices at Chichen Itza. Next stop is at Chichen Itza which is beautiful. Cenote after Chichen Itza is heavenly and is a great end to the trip. Tequila tasting is not provided by the tour company and is just offered by a business at the Cenote. They were rude and weren’t interested in you trying tequila unless you are “really interested” in buying. Ruben, our tour guide was awesome and provided really good info all through the tour. All in all, a great experience and well executed by the tour company (Amigo Tours).
Good company to tour with
Fred_N, 07-01-2023
Chicken itza was canceled due to protests. Amigo Tours were very good and offered alternatives for date, change tours or refund. We did Telum Coba cenote swim and Playa del Carmen. Tour well organized and guide was OK. 14 hours door to door mostly on the bus. Might be a bit ambitious to get everything done in a day. Could use more tome in Coba and miss playa del carmen. More info on the sites would be interesting and. Good impression of Amigo Tours arranging alternatives on short notice and providing information and alternatives when they were able.
Overall average experience.
Zaytov92, 15-12-2022
Overall average experience; tour guide Ruben was good. Be prepared to be gone all day long at least 12-13 hrs. Most of the trip is driving 3-4 hrs to chichen itza. Everything has a cost/fee for sure. Bring drinks and snacks, so you don’t spend extra money at buffet. Gift shop stop is outrageous for prices so beware when spending.
Fun filled busy day
Simone_S, 15-12-2022
Visiting Chichén Itzá...It was everything and more!
This trip is value for money and the host /guide was super funny and friendly. Pack drinks and snacks for the journey. Lunch was ok, drinks not included so bring cash and your bank card.
The only thing I would say is the guided tour at Chichén Itzá is a bit lengthy, leaving little time to walk around yourself but great fir history lovers overall. And the Time to swim in the cenote is limited. Skip the tequila tasting and head straight there. Make sure you check how much you are being charged for the life vest, I was overcharged by 200% on my card ...
