Brilliant day out!
Eleanor T, 19-09-2022
We had a great visit to XCARET for the day, followed by the night show. The park is huge, with lots going on. There’s so much to do that you cant do it all in one day. We recommend the Adrenalina Speed Boat Trip (but it’s not for the faint hearted). The evening show is also really good and super entertaining. Food and drink was good quality and reasonably priced throughout the park. 10/10 recommend :)

Easy to reserve. Had no hiccups. Enjoyed XCARET very much. Definitely need at least 2 days to enjoy the park.

We Loved loved loved it! Amazing experience and a MUST do while in Mexico. We took kids (6,8,9) and they loved it. The animals, snorkeling, swimming in the river, the shows… everything way absolutely incredible!

This place is amazing! I am so glad we found this park, it has so much to offer! On our visit we enjoyed the Underground River, Snorkeling, the Adrenalina Boat and the evening show. We did purchase the plus package, so we got a buffet meal at one of the restaurants included. A couple of helpful tips/suggestions; 1) do purchase the photo package, it is reasonably priced and it allowed for some good photos, 2) you do not need to rent a locker at the main entrance, for every activity we did each one was able to accommodate our belongings with secured bags and/or lockers, 3) you can pay for the activities at each specific station but if you want to make a reservation then make those at the front counter at the park entrance, 4) make sure you have plenty of single dollar bills or small denomination bills for tipping.

* Underground River: This is an excellent, relaxing activity. We really enjoyed just floating down the river, and leisurely seeing scenic views and wildlife. The river is roughly 6 feet deep, I couldn’t touch the bottom in the middle but my husband could at some points. I do wish they would have spaced people out, there were a couple times where we would swim ahead and find pockets to avoid people. Do be prepared to bump into other people, and expect lines for the picture points. There are definitely parts of the river that are enclosed in rock (like a cave tunnel) and lighted with underwater lights but it does get very dark. There is also a rope that lines the entire river for people to grab onto if needed and there are multiple exit points along the way if you don’t want to do the whole river. I don’t remember the exact distance but it takes about 45 minutes to an hour to complete the river if you are floating and stopping to take pictures.
* Snorkeling: Our guide was Veronica who was very sweet and was a great guide for our group. The overall activity is about 2 hours, you do take the boat out to a special habitat. On our “dive” we saw lots of fish, two stingrays and one sea turtle, it was amazing! She took us around and over the coral which was beautiful. The water was very warm and so clear! This was a great experience and I think I may developed an interest in snorkeling anywhere tropical.
* Adrenalina: Our captains were Pablo and Tomas and this was a unique treat. The boat takes you out into the ocean (you can easily still be seen from land) and they after picking up enough speed will do turns/spins and get splashed. You will also do immersions, which amazingly turned out to be my favorite. After picking up enough speed they will submerge the front of the boat which will put you under water for roughly 3 seconds, it’s crazy but FUN! The overall activity is just under 30 minutes.
The most chill park I've ever been to
EricaBees, 10-12-2022
"Ecopark" really is the best term to describe Xcaret, because theme parks feel more kitschy and much less peaceful than this place. You feel like you are in the middle of the jungle when walking down the paths - there are trees and plants everywhere and it has a sort of secluded feeling, even with all the people. It's cool how the macaws choose to live there - they could fly away if they wanted to, but they seem to have safety and food so they stay.

My husband and I swam in all three underground rivers and did the relaxing boat ride (propelled by the captain using an oar, so no noisy motor). For the underground rivers, all 3 have the same entrance, so you can choose. If you're trying to decide, I would recommend doing the first two (Azul and Maya). The third one (Manatee) was really cool and had bats which was unique, but it can be a little long if you're also doing the others.

Things start to shut down before the show starts at 7, so make sure you get to the exhibits and food stands in time. I would definitely return if I visit the Mayan Riviera again!
My best day out ever!

Xcaret exceeded all my expectations. We paid £122 each for the Xcaret Plus tickets but well worth it as included the Xcaret Plus area lockers, and an all you can eat buffet lunch with unlimited soft drinks. The lunch was as varied and as good quality as a 5 star hotel. The park had so many activities and interesting sights. We started with a jungle walk and then did the river swim through caves. That lasted about an hour and a half or more and was really very enjoyable. It is very safe and life jackets are provided for free. We saw a white deer snd lots of interesting waterfalls, etc. We then did various routes around the park and saw the butterfly pavilion where we saw lots of different kinds of butterflies flying around us, the aviary- full of exotic birds and also a vulture and golden eagle. Just walking around we saw lots of parrots ion the park, lemurs, flamingoes. We saw bats in the bat cave, archeological ruins, a cougar and a jaguar in beautiful habitats. Also a Mayan village. The various routes are very cleverly thought out and the blue route took us tl the aquarium, the sharks, dolphins, turtles. Also to a beautiful beach and as part of our package we could have had free hire of snorkel gear to swim in the ocean bay full of fish. We loved everything we saw and did. The park is very clean. If you buy a bottle of water there are free refilling stations and I didn't see any plastic at all or overflowing bins. Even the shops are very tasteful and full of beautiful Mexican items. I could quite easily have spent a fortune! The Mexican cemetery, the horse show, and the Hacienda museum were some of my favourite things to see and do. The highlight was the electrifying show in the evening. It was the best show I have ever seen. Absolutely spectacular. The energy, and passion that went into it was incredible. The costumes were all amazing and the choreography superb. It was definitely the BEST park I have been to.
Absolutely wonderful family friendly day

We went to Mexico on our honeymoon with our just turned 1 baby.
Obviously we were aware daytrips with a baby are limited.
We came across xcaret. We didn't book with an agent We went straight to the website and bought a basic ticket for 2 the baby was free. We also added the photos.
It was really easy and cheap to get to either by transport bus or taxi.. we chose taxi in the end with the baby.
Our experience of the park was beyond expectations fantastic!
We took the stroller and it was really easy to get around everywhere with it.
We took food and snacks for the baby and water bottles for us. Inside the park are plenty of hydration stations to top up and snack bars for tacos and ice cream.
We also just bought lunch for us at a cafe and it came to about £5 each for a meal deal.
We took the advice of the staff and did the dry stuff first and wet in the afternoon
Took the route straight to the avairy and butterfly House and worked away through turtles and sharks to the kids area.
There were plenty of optional extras but we stook to the included stuff and our day was filled and fabulous.
There is a lot of extra options but none of it was forced.
Photo band was fab especially for the more dramatic photos.
Kids area is clean well kept and perfect for a variety of ages.
For babies I advice bringing a pool toy just to keep them entertained a little longer.
In the afternoon we did the lazy river, included in the basic price they take all your bags and stroller to the lazy River exit which was fantastic and helpful.
Under 4s aren't recommended and floats aren't allowed. However the life jacket is plenty good enough to keep baby above the water. I'm a strong swimmer and I didn't find it difficult paddling on my back with baby on my chest.
What I would say is the water is cooler so put them in a substantial swim suit. Don't dilly dally and get to the end as it takes about 30-40mins at a pace to get to the end especially if you stop for photo ops.
He was just getting chilly towards the end but with bag and stroller delivery he warmed up really quickly.
We had to leave before the show unfortunately as we forgot milk. However we were really siked as they were setting up.
Other things to mention
Horse show- well worth a watch
Mexican ladies and singing- fantastic
Gift shops- there are loads but it's really nice hand made stuff and certainly not forced down your throat.
Perfect day out and highlight of our trip it's obvious the park had put a lot of thought into the whole experience.
Overall we had no expectations for the day but our whole family had a great day.

Other specific tips- take Beach shoes, water proof pouch for your phone towels and a change of clothes. There is items sold to cover these but it is expensive.
The best day of our holiday!!!
Mandy C, 25-11-2022
We'd been having a really awful holiday until our day here. We weren't quite sure what to expect, but it was absolutely amazing.
There were so many things to see that were included in the ticket, we didn't bother to purchase any of the other activities. We were going to do Adrenaline, but it was very expensive, so we didn't bother. The bird aviary was one of the best I have ever seen. The butterfly pavilion was just stunning and it was a real treat to see the jaguars and manatees. The site is huge, and yes things are expensive, but that's to be expected in a place like this. It was busy, but there was plenty of lockers and places to get changed.
The evening show was absolutely stupendous. One of the best shows I have ever seen. The performances were professional, colourful and vibrant. The show started off with showing the Mayan ball game and fire ball hockey, followed by a journey through history using music and dance. The show was professionally put together and had a real Mexican carnival feel to it.
Thank you Xcaret for giving us the best day of our holiday.
Great place for all people but it’s a big place with a lot of activities and a long day. Planning ahead
Jianping C, 14-12-2022
Great place with a lot of activities. It will be a long day and should plan ahead to choose things that you want to do. If you’re going to go with the underground swimming and not want to cover the whole 1400 feet distance. You may walk to the third entrance and swimming the last section of the water with scenic views. The lunch is better taken at the northern part of the oceanfront location restaurant with high quality selections. The night Show is wonderful and more enjoyable for the locals due to language. The best way to go is to buy a package that include the park admission, lunch buffet, night show with a reputable company.
Amazing

AMAZING PLACE TO BE AND GO WWITH FAMILY. Will recommend to family and friends. Amazing place and super nice people.
XCaret Park - better than Disney World?
FAMURattler, 31-12-2022
XCaret is awesome!! For a frame of reference - we are avid Disney World fans and have been to Disney World Hotels + theme parks almost 100 times over the past 25 years. I would put my best day at XCaret Hotels + Eco Parks up against any day at Disney!! XCaret park specifically is HUGE. If offers a great natural "lazy river" experience that lasts for hours, an aquarium, caves, cenotes, beaches, wild life, Mexican villages, great shopping and unique experiences you can't get anywhere else. We've experienced the park while staying at a resort in Cancun (we took the 1 hour XCaret shuttle to Playa del Carmen to get to XCaret Park). We've also lodged at both XCaret hotels. Both experiences were great, but the best way to experience the park is definitely to stay at the all inclusive XCaret hotels if you can. The free XCaret Park admission is a great perk. Overall the value is good whether you stay on or off XCaret property. You definitely get what you pay for, without having to deal with some of the long lines and and high prices of United States theme parks. Be aware though - there is some "danger" in these parks. This is a very "natural setting" - like going to any natural / national park - watch small children and practice safety. Lifejackets and safety equipment is provided for novice swimmers. Lifeguards are on duty, but you still need to be safe! Pro-tip - wear swim shoes (not crocs) and note that free lockers are provided for storing towels and a change of clothes.
Amazingly Beautiful Ambience
theschuay86, 21-12-2022
We were staying at the neighbouring Occidental Resort, which has two private entrances to the park. We did not do the unlimited Xcaret option the resort offered. Instead we booked a one day, get the second day half off promotion they were running out of the ticket office from the resort. This option was perfect as 2 days is plenty. Since we are staying next door getting to and from is simple and convenient. For the unlimited option to make sense (given the buy one get second day half off), you would need to go 4 times, which is too long in my mind.

Since we did two days, we went with land based, non water activities the first day and water activities the second day. This allowed for a leisurely pace to see all the amazing things they have at the park. One day for everything would be too rushed. Our favourites were the butterfly pavilion and the river swimming. Least favourite was the snorkelling as even our own resort had better places for that. It was a great experience and such a beautiful place with lots to see and do. Nothing exciting that gets the adrenaline going, but some stuff feels adventurous and most is just soaking in beautiful ambience. I thought the show was great, my wife thought it was a tad long and boring, noting she could not understand some of the meaning behind some of the acts. Download the Xcaret app and study it so you understand the routes ahead of time and navigating the park becomes a lot easier as the park has layers and not easily navigate-able unless you understand the lines on the ground which the map helps with. We both loved it, but would not come back since it seems like a once in a lifetime experience. we did not go with the photo option, but suggest you do the scan for photos and you can see at the end of the trip if you think it’s worth it. You don’t have to buy this option for the photos to work, just need to pay to get the photos download link. They have a computer and will show you the photos before you buy.
Great day!
Shannon_S, 20-12-2022
The river swim through caves and jungles, was the most memorable! The turtles and Kids World were also family favorites!
Fun Park!
chadobx, 24-12-2022
I don't want to sound contradictive but the park is really fun but it's really spread out so if you have trouble walking this is definitely not the place for you. Also, it's a little pricey for what you get but saying that it just depends on the individual. Everybody's going to be different. Overall, we did have a good day there.
